Limehouse Conservation Area on the Bruce Trail

Limehouse is always a favourite and traditional winter hike for us. We didn’t want to spoil it with grey, dull weather, so it took a few weeks to get us back on the trail. When the weather forecast promised clear sunny skies last Sunday, we made sure we were up at dawn to enjoy it.

Sunrise, and putting the full moon to bed over Scotsdale Farm.

There was very little snow and the woods were extremely quiet. We were the only hikers out, other than a vigorous group of seriously kitted out day hikers who barrelled through much more quickly and noisily than us, thereby ensuring all wildlife but a few red squirrels had vacated the area well before we passed through. We took only a few photos but really enjoyed being out of doors in the cold air and sunshine. Here’s some more of what we saw along the way.

Happy Trails!
